Ellie talking

Face Paint

So I am busy...
Today's agenda...

First I have the girls that keep me running.

Next I have the house to clean or at least try to clean.

Then I have Carl and his house buying adventure.

Fourthly I have the Mille Lacs Fun Run and Mille Lacs Mighty Munchkin Run... meeting tonight so trying to get prepared as well as do odds and ends.
This lead me to a mini break to create homemade face paint. The Munchkin Run is adding a face painting table this year to occupy the waiting kids. So I searched for paint but thought about the fact that most of it is probably toxic and the organic stuff is pretty spendy. Then I did a search for homemade face paint and found that by mixing four household items you have yourself some pretty darn good paint. So I quickly mixed up some and painted a few things on my arm.

Then it lead me to this blog post which wasn't in my agenda. But, oh well...

Other items on my list...
Finish Thanks You's for Ellie... well actually start.
And, one last major thing... start my Continuing Education for Real Estate. Needs to be done by June 30th.

OK...
I know it will all get done. I always wait until the last minute. But a little creative break to paint a heart, bird face and butterfly on my arm was needed!

2 months already

So it is true... that if you blink your baby will be two months already. It is amazing how the days go by as a blur. First I am awaken by Ellie, she needs to eat. Then sometime she decides to fall back asleep. I go about my day with Big Sister Hadley. Usually though Ellie is up too. She is content in the morning. She will let me hop in the shower as she sits in her little chair in the bathroom. Hadley is busy in the her bedroom playing with her babies, making us coffee, or she might read Ellie a book.

After I get my must needed shower, we all head downstairs. Ellie likes to be snuggled. She loves to be wrapped in her blankets and wants to be cozy warm. Sometimes I attribute this to her stay at Children's, while we were there she had warming lights on her. She also loves to sleep on her side, I know this isn't the proper way for her to sleep but it is what she likes. She usually sleeps on both her side and her back, kinda half way in between. Again probably because of her hospital stay, the nurses put her on her side a lot. You eat about every three hours and you are starting to coo and smile especially when we talk to you.

Ellie had her two month check up May 25th. She weighed 10 lbs 12 oz. She is gaining weight just as she should. She is 21.5" in length. We had to get her blood pressure checked since she was able to get off her blood pressure meds. She was 90 over 50 and that was in her left leg.
That was the same pressure reading as 10 days before when she had her big cardiologist visit at Children's Heart Clinic. Monday, May 16th we took Ellie in for a EKG, Echo, Xray and all the other things. Everything looked great. Her repair was just how they wanted to see it. She was a good little trooper for all her tests. She screamed for the Xray but she always did that every morning when we were in the hospital. After we were done we picked up Auntie Michelle and went to eat some pizza.

Currently Ellie has thrush, it is a yeast infection on her tongue. Not a huge deal but now we are giving her medicine again. This medicine is four times a day for seven days. Ugh!

To our dearest two month old -- Ellie, you are everything to your Daddy and I. We absolutely love you with all of our heart. You complete our family and make us smile everyday. We couldn't imagine our world without you in it and we know you are the strongest little girl ever.

Well... I am off to go look at some other peoples junk with Shanessa. Ok, well garage sales. I am not a huge fan of them but sometime you can find a couple things you need.

Happy 29 months

Hadley is 29 months old two days ago. Almost 2 and a half. WOW! She is such a great big sister. She loves Ellie and gives her kisses all the time.
Hadley loves playing with her dolls. She enjoys snacks and one of her favorites is fruit.
If anyone comes over she has to show them her room. She says, "Want to see my room?" It is so cute people just can't say no.
Currently she goes to bed at 9pm. Daddy reads books and falls asleep with her. She listens fairly well considering she is in the terrible two stage and is now sharing her time with her sister. Her most recent time outs have been because she continues to say "NO" to everything in a snotty way. She also hit me about a week ago and caught a time out. But, other then that she is just a typical two year old. She loves to sing and listen to music. Her favorite song right now is the ABC's. She likes Dora and the Backyardagains. She wants to be just like us and asks for coffee... we give her hot chocolate.
Last week Hadley took her first face plant at Grandma and Papa's house. She had a big fat lip and got a little bloody. It is almost gone... still a few scratches by her nose. But the big lip went down after the first day.
We look forward to some fun play time this summer outside and hopefully a lot of fun Daddy time as he looks forward to taking her on boat rides. We love you so much Hadley... to the moon and back.

Happy Mothers Day

Happy Baptism Max! Love your Godparents.

Yesterday was my third Mother's day with Hadley and my first with Ellie. We went to church since for Max's baptism. Robert and I were his Godparents. Hadley was such a good little girl. She listened well and loves it when her daddy goes to church too.
Then we had lunch at Mike and Margie's. After lunch we went to Grandma and Papa's to relax and eat dinner. Hadley took a nap. After she woke up -- Nevaeh, Shanessa, Laurie and Bruce came over. We had a yummy dinner, brats and hamburgers on the grill. The girls played outside with Andrew. Ellie was trying to take nap on and off. She wasn't able to just get into a good rest but she wasn't crabby. We stayed until 8 pm and then came home. We were gone all day. It was a good day.

Crazy morning

So this morning I was wanted by both girls at the same time. It was insane...
First Hadley needed breakfast and then Ellie needed to eat too. Then Ellie likes to be bundled up so she can sleep. I did that and tried off and on all morning to get her to take a nap. Didn't work so well. She kept fighting it. Obviously she was hungry again so I fed her and then Hadley wanted candy. Ugh... I said no to the candy and said we needed to get changed... both her saggy diaper and clothes. So upstairs we went and did both... decided to try underwear to see if it would help her understand the concept of peeing in the potty. So after much discussion about not wetting her pants, it was the first thing she did after I started feeding Ellie. I finished feeding Ellie, changed Hadley into a bum genius (again thinking that she might feel the wetness better.) Back to playing, I tried again to get Ellie to nap, she sort of did, then I smelled the dreaded poop from Hadley. I asked if she pooped, "No" was the answer. I knew she was lying. Ellie was content, Hadley was playing... I paid a few bills. Then upstairs I went to check on Hadley and OMG... marker everywhere, on both her cheeks, on both her feet, on her kitchen, on her dishes, on her highchair, a doll, the floor, her shirt... Holy Moly where wasn't there marker? I yelled a little, gave her a timeout on her bed while she watched me clean up the marker. Thankfully it is washable and it all was gone except on the doll, didn't clean that yet. So after it was time to get her in the tub to clean her up... plus take off that stinky diaper, which was in a cloth diaper so ugh, I had to clean it. She listened and I talked to her about the marker, she seemed to get it. Who knows... Ellie cried off and on. She really wanted to nap and she needs to be rocked sometimes or just held. During the bath, I held Ellie, she drifted a little but not enough. I got Hadley out of the tub, dressed her for the third time. Put on a regular diaper... not going down the cloth diaper route right now. Now time for lunch. I nursed Ellie and she drifted again but not enough. But enough to get lunch done. Hadley ate everything. We had four cheese pasta and a half hotdog. She even sat there and looked at me and said, "Thanks mommy for making me lunch." I said your welcome and thought how could I ever be mad at this cute thing. She said it again and again. It was so cute. After lunch Ellie finally fell asleep long enough for me to put Hadley down for a nap. Then I was able to clean up a little, write this blog, surf the net some and well just relax with a diet coke until they both wake up. It is too much fun sometimes and I just have to laugh on days like this.
