Let's go to the movies!

Yesterday the girls and I planned to meet Auntie Michelle in Rogers to see the 10:40am showing of Frozen. We arrived and got the girls their own snack plate with an icee. Then we made it to the theater as the previews were rolling. Only 4 other people in the theater. That was nice. We made sure to use the bathroom before. This was the first time I ever took the girls to a movie. This was Ellie's first movie and Hadley's second or third. I haven't actually seen a movie in years.

We knew the story line because we have the book. I wasn't expecting the movie to be so good. I was blown away by the music. The lyrics were amazing. The whole movie was amazing. I laughed, cried and was just in awe. This is by far one of the best Disney movies ever! After it was over we had lunch at Wendy's and then went to the YMCA to swim. We swam for an hour and hit up Target for the Frozen CD and a few other items. Of course we spent well over an hour in Target browsing the clearance and looking. It was 5:45 when we finally left for home. We stopped quickly at Aldi too for a look and grabbed some groceries. I am beginning to like that store. We listened to the soundtrack all the way home. The girls loved it!

Ellie fell asleep half way home. When we got home I unpacked everything and then grabbed Ellie. She cried and I thought she would wake up but she just cuddled with me and fell asleep again. I held here and rocked thinking how wonderful it is to just hold a sleeping child. Then I brought her upstairs to her bed and changed her into a pullup and jammie's. I laid her under her covers and she fell asleep for the rest of the night. She woke up at 6am to go pottie and then she cuddled with me until 9am.

As soon as the girls got up this morning they have been playing Frozen and listening to the music. Hadley wants everything just so... Ellie is Anna and Hadley is Elsa.  It is super cute!

Journey South

The days keep moving forward and we are still figuring out the plan for our move to the Metro. Things have been discussed a lot in the last two weeks and I think Robert and I are needing a break from the discussions. We are both wanting this "move" to be over and it feels like it is long overdue but it hasn't begun. Regardless we are both still on board with our plans and location. We are figuring out things like do I work full-time right away or do we rent or buy a cheap home? We have come to the conclusion of renting and we are both very happy with that decision. We are looking at possibly renting our home but haven't fully decided on that. This is a quiet time of  year for showings but we had one Saturday. We haven't had any feedback yet, however, we did enjoy a lazy weekend because the house was clean and laundry was done. That being said, we are unsure of renting because we would have to take the house off the market for a year and list it next spring. Our ultimate goal is to the sell the house and we haven't really had it for-sale during "prime" time. So maybe typing this has lead me to the right decision of keeping it on the market but I am not liking the idea of paying for 2 homes if it doesn't sell before our moving deadline of August. The plus to renting the house is we could move earlier around April. So we will wait and see what the future holds!

These two

Good Morning... it is Saturday. The sun is shining but it is cold. It is 9 degrees now but the temps are predicted to fall to well below zero. So cold that even the Governor of MN declared no school on Monday. This doesn't effect the girls but it does mean an extra day of Christmas vacation for Nevaeh.

Our weekend has been low key. Finally, is all I can say, after the hustle of Christmas I was ready to hunker down in a hole and not get out for days. And, I am happy to report that I did just that. I had Thursday and Friday off and I don't work until 2pm today. So the girls and I have just hung out. We colored, played games, danced, watched movies and worked on a little ABC mouse. We also did venture out yesterday to join in on a potluck send off at the Messenger for Brett. It was nice to see everyone.

Daddy decided to join Uncle Chad last night in the fish house up at Nitti's. I have not heard any morning reports except that they just had breakfast and bloodymary's.

Soon we plan to get ready to go to Grandma's house. The girls will spend the afternoon there since I work and Daddy will come in off the lake later this evening.

Girls update:
Hadley: She is officially 5 and I have noticed a slight change in her patience with Ellie. Hopefully it is just a phase. She loves to play with her dolls and enjoys her new barbie house. She is starting to come down with a little cough. Hopefully it won't amount to much. I am sure she got it from Ellie. She has been talking a lot about dance, she points out things she learned. She also has been really good at bringing up past events and telling stories. For Christmas we got some string and needles and her and I are excited to learn how to sew together. We also got a fun sewing book with craft ideas for kids. Maybe next year we can get a sewing machine. Since she loves fashion so much, I thought we would try to incorporate the hobby of sewing.

Ellie: She is sick. It started last weekend. It was first a virus. The stomach flu. She threw up twice and didn't eat for 2 days. Now it is a respiratory cold with a cough and runny nose. Poor thing has been very whiny. She is officially potty trained with pull ups at night. I plan to do a separate post on this awesome news but for now we are all very happy with how things are going in that department. Ellie loves to play with Hadley. She plays house very well and is usually the mom. She also plays with her blocks. She is really good at coloring. She stays inside the line fairly well and she uses different colors. I am impressed. This is probably something a second child is better at because they can watch the older child. Who knows. Her thumb is in her mouth all the time thus she doesn't really talk a lot. She can talk well but it seems like we never hear her.

Here are the girls sleeping Thursday night.

Saturday morning laziness!
