P52 | Week 5

Snowshoeing! Robert and I spent an hour walking the farm. It was beautiful. We saw five deer and Talley scared up a few grouse. Robert was my tour guide. Every time we are at the farm we always pause where our future house will sit and look around. This was the first time I ever really imagined looking out my kitchen window at a winter wonderland. We both can't wait until that day comes.

P52 | Week 4

Jessie's Wedding in Duluth!

This was Saturday, Jan. 22nd. I was almost 32 weeks along. I spent the day helping Jessie out as her personal attendant. It was very cold but everything turned out great, just the way she planned. So I am a week late posting this but it did fall early on in week 4 or a day early for week 4. Happy P52! I can do this... hopefully!

Poison Control

I made my first call to poison control. It was minor but I wanted to make sure. Hadley got into my purse and I had a plastic bag in there of tums, a couple tylenol and vitamins. She ate two tums and tried a tylenol but didn't swallow it. Obviously it didn't taste good to her.
I found this out because she brought me the bag and immediately I knew she tried the tums because I could smell it. So I asked her how many and I knew I didn't have many in there and she said two. Then I asked her if she ate anything else and she just didn't know. I found the half of tylenol in the bag and the other half on the table. I googled it and they said for her to drink water and that is what poison control said too. They said that a child could actually eat a few tylenol and be okay as well as tums. So we are all good. However I feel like the worlds worst Mom right now.
I yelled at her, gave her a light pat on the butt and made her sit in my bed so she knew what she did was wrong and not right.

P52 | Week 2

Names we are considering for Little Pea!

Whew... The Happy Heiny's have a lot to update. Week 2 recap!

Sunday, Jan. 9th - Happy 25 Months to Hadley! Already one month flew by after turning two. With many new toys to play with from your birthday and Christmas you have been busy. I never thought you would have loved Play Doh as much as you do. You got a molding mania set with tons of cutters and you play with it every day. After the New Year I decided to slow down on the juice a bit and it has helped your digestive system. However, this week your poo was a little soft again because of all the draining due to a cold. As a 25 month old you are very happy. You can communicate really well by asking for what you want or even by answering questions about your day. Here is an example:
Setting the scene: Hadley walks into the bathroom with all her baby accessories packed and ready to go hanging off her shoulder.
Mommy: Where are you going?
Hadley: Shopping
Mommy: What store?
Hadley: Cities
Mommy: Cities? What are you going to buy?
Hadley: M&M's
Mommy: You don't have to go all the way to the Cities for M&M's
Such a funny little girl. Milestones: You sleep in your twin bed on the floor. You get up every night and crawl in bed with Mommy and Daddy. Lately that is around 3am. But the last two nights it has been 6am. You love Dora and Curious George and love to take pictures. And, you love going to church.

Hadley loves Play Doh!

Monday, Jan. 10th - Nothing too exciting! I had to work at the Messenger and Daddy started the week knowing he was working 12 hour days.

Tuesday, Jan. 11th
- We went to Cambridge in the morning with Grandma to go shopping. Hadley is getting better at shopping again. We went to Kohls, had lunch at Applebee's and then picked up supplies at Walmart. After we got home I had to do some Real Estate and Grandma said Hadley played with her new outfits from Kohls. Showing each doll and she even had to show Uncle Chad. Plus, you got a new piggy bank that oinks when you put money in it. Now you are always wanting something to put in it to hear the piggy talk.

Wednesday, Jan. 12th - Work as usual but then we got to go to church for Faith In Action. Hadley LOVES Church! It was a quiet night, a few kids didn't come so it was an easy night for Mommy too!

Thursday, Jan. 13th - I had an appointment with Dr. LeLand OB/Gyn regarding a VBAC. Or another way to say it is a trial of labor. I want to try to have this little pea the normal way but since I had a C/S I have to have the baby at a bigger hospital with an OR staff on staff. Anyway, he was supportive of VBAC and pointed out the positives and negatives. He said it was my choice and that he supports a C/S or VBAC. He said it was more of a mental decision then a medical decision. I guess I can see that. I have to be okay with trying and failing again. Well not that I think having a C/S is failing. I am actually okay with the idea but I hate the recovery so that is why I want to attempt the trial of labor to see if I can avoid the recovery. If things just aren't working, I will say... okay let's just go into C/S. I think I will be induced so the day is controlled and I am okay with this but some websites say that induction leads to a higher rate of C/S. So who knows. I know that each birth is different and that each baby is different. My body will be different and the weather will be different that day. I am not ready to throw in the towel yet. I think my body can do it, so I am going to TRY!
See fighting sleep post for more on this day.

We made some yummy Snickerdoodle Cookies!

Friday, Jan. 14th - Another typical day. I had to work at the Messenger and Daddy worked at NPP. The last of his 12 hour days for the week. They are super busy there. We are happy Daddy made it through the week. He went to bed early and that helped. It also helped that Hadley didn't crawl into bed until he was up getting ready or after he left. That way he got good sleep too. He has to get up at 3:15am to be to work at 4am. So we do feel for him because that is just way too early to get up. Hadley had a short nap today and was a little fussy but not too bad. She played well throughout the night and we watched a little Dora before bed. Then we went to bed at 9pm and she fell asleep right away and slept in her bed until 6am. Then she crawled in with me and we got up at 8am.

Saturday, Jan. 15th - Today we have some plans. But first we are doing nothing. My back hurts a lot more then normal and I am hoping to schedule a PT appointment and some massages in the coming weeks. It is my SI joint and that is leading to my Sciatic nerve as well. So basically it feels like sharp pain on my lower right side and then numbness through my right butt cheek. Tylenol doesn't seem to help when it gets this bad and really all I can do is ignore it. But it was all I could feel while laying in bed last night. I slept with a pillow in between by legs and it helped a little and the funny thing was it felt better if I slept on my right side verses the left.
This afternoon we are going to Mora to see my Dad's side of the family. A Roger's Potluck. Then we have to go to my Uncle John's for his 50th BDay party. Daddy is working until noon. He went in at 5am. The sun is shining and it looks like it is going to be a great day!

Fighting Sleep!

So Hadley had a little nap today which made her very very tired tonight. We did the routine for bed about an hour early and she was right on track for bed for sure by 8pm. However, from 8-8:45 she fought and she fought hard. She was crying, wanting water, wanting her diaper changed because she pooped. There was no poop... but we changed it anyway. She wanted Daddy kisses and more vicks on her chest. She wanted to go down stairs. It was a battle. Finally she broke down and wanted to read a book down stairs ... a mommy type book. I told her she could look at it for a bit and then it was going up stairs with her to bed. She didn't like that and she broke down again. She got a time out for being sooo naughty. Then we just went up stairs. Daddy woke up and asked her what the matter was and she didn't answer. I wiped her face down from all the boogers and tears and told her it was time for bed yet again. Daddy said she had to be good. We went into her room again 8:45 pm now and laid down for the what seemed to be the tenth time. She cried a little more and then finally gave in. Hopefully she can sleep for a good while. She has a slight cough. But last night she was in her bed for a great stretch even with the cough. So just when I thought I would be able to have "Mommy time" starting at 8pm. It is now 9pm and I better go check on her and then hopefully if all is well. I can watch Grey's and relax. Ahhhh... the joys of a toddler!

P52 | Week One

My Favorite Subject

So I joined the movement brought on by our friend Stacy. I hope I can keep up with P52 as there have been times where I go four weeks without blogging. But, this challenge will keep me posting weekly!

Bath time...
Hadley loves bath time. She likes water dumped over her head and she enjoys playing with her toys. She also loves to take showers either on her own or with Mommy and Daddy.

Today we didn't leave the house. We played play doh, colored and read books. We watched Dora "of course" and we danced to kids tunes. For lunch we had pizza because I have been craving pizza. For dinner we made a yummy chicken wild rice soup. I was able to clean while Hadley had a short nap. I also was able to clean off the video camera by saving the video to the portable hard drive. I really do need to get those videos on DVD.

Baby Update...
The little pea kicks all the time. I will be 29 weeks tomorrow. I have a doctor's appointment in the morning.

P52

Thanks to a friend and a challenge...
The Happy Heinsen's will be participating in P52.
Taking a photo of something going on in the Heinsen world weekly!
Here's to some hopefully fun photos!
